fermented vegies

My husband share me this videos all about the fermented vegetables on Youtube and it make us think maybe we can start our own fermented vegetables too. It is a good idea to make your own than buying it at the store, it save you money and it healthy to eat this kind of food. We are into Sauerkraut and so far the one we make couple weeks ago turns out really good. Even our dogs like it! The changes of our diets makes a lot of difference. My husband have more energy and don’t have any digestive problems at all unlike before he always have the same problems and pains. Good thing we change our diet into organic foods and we try to minimize eating dairy, wheat and soy. We will try to make our own fermented vegetable this week, we already have the ingredients and will surely share the photos here in my blog so that all you guys can see it.

Make our own Sauerkraut

We just made our own sauerkraut today and this is how it looks like! It is very easy to make, we saw a video at youtube about fermented vegetables that's why we started to make our own instead of buying sauerkraut at the store. The sauerkraut that we usually bought at the organic store is kind a expensive about $6-10 a jar. If you make your own then you can make as many jar as you like, you can save money and its healthy! All you have to do is buy red and green cabbage, finely cut the cabbage and add salt then leave it in a jar for about a week or two it depends on your taste. Me and my husband love to eat sauerkraut. Here are some of the health benefits of sauerkraut:
1. Immune booster -  sauerkraut help boost the immune system which leads to a decrease in a number of health problems. The common cold, skin problems, weight gain and tainted blood are all fixed by a healthy functioning immune system.
2. Cancer fighter - sauerkraut is a cancer inhibitor. The study discovered that the fermentation of cabbage produced a substance called isothiocynates, which prevents cancer growth, particularly in the breast, colon, lung and liver.
3. Digestive aid - Eating sauerkraut is a great way to protect the balance of bacteria in your gastrointestinal tract. It also cures an upset stomach. Many sources say raw fermented foods are beneficial to the digestive system by increasing the healthy flora in the intestinal tract or creating the type of environment for them to flourish.
4. Flu Fighter!
So if you want to have a healthy digestive system, then keep eating fermented vegetables! If you can't afford it then make your own instead, its easy and its healthy for everybody!
