Oobleck for the Science Project

It was so nice to see my daughter enjoying their science project today. They are making Oobleck! I never heard such thing until they finish making it and then I remember, we bought that before at store and my kids think it was yucky and gooey. It looks like playdough but its more slimy and gooey. It turns out pretty good though and the teacher give them each piece to bring home. I got a chance to help out and help the kids making it. I come every afternoon twice a week to help out the teacher, just volunteer my time to help out in case she needs help and also its nice to see my daughter enjoying school.

Here's how they made it! They made elmers glue and borax for this science project instead of just water and cornstarch but it works pretty good! Here's all you need:

Elmers glue (8 oz bottle)
Borax
Large mixing bowl
plastic cup
spoon
measuring cup
food coloring
water
You need paper towel after to clean up!

Procedure:

Fill the empty bottle with warm water and shake then pour the glue water mixture into the mixing bowl and use the spoon to mix well.

Add a drop or two of food coloring then measure 1/2 cup of warm water into the plastic cup and add a teaspoon of Borax powder to the water. Stir it. While stirring, slowly add a little of the Borax solution. Put away the mixing spoon and use your hands to do the mixing. Keep adding the Borax solution to the glue mixture until you get the perfect slime Oobleck. Then its done! you can seal it up in a zip lock bag after you finish playing your Oobleck. Enjoy!
