Memorial Day

Last Monday is Memorial Day so it means its a Holiday! Mike dont have work that time so we just spend our time staying here in the house. We moved some of our furniture, clean our backyard, cut the grass in the front yard and do some work here in the house. We dont celebrate Memorial Day so for us, its not a big deal. Creamy Brownies

Im not good in cooking but trying new recipes is really fun! I found a brownie recipe in one of my recipe book title "the best hometown cooking", and last night, i try the recipe and it turned out really good and yummy!

Here is the recipe of this Best-Ever Brownies:

1/2 cup sugar

1/3 cup butter

1 cup semi sweet chocolate

2 eggs

1 tsp vanilla

3/4 cup flour

1/4 tsp. baking soda

1/2 cup pecans

For Frosting:

3 tbs butter (for the frosting)

1 1/2 cup powdered sugar

1/4 tsp vanilla

2-3 tsp milk

1 oz semi sweet chocolate, melted

Direction:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease an 8x8x2 inch baking pan. In a saucepan, combine sugar, butter, 2 tbs water. Cook and stir just until mixture boils. Remove from heat. Stir in chocolate pieces until melted. Stir in eggs and vanilla just until combined. Stir in flour, baking soda and a pinch of salt. Stir in pecans and spread batter in prepared pan.

Bake about 20 minutes or until edges are set and begin to pull away from sides of pan then let it cool.

For frosting: Beat 3 tbs butter with an electric mixer on medium to high speed 30 seconds. Slowly beat in powdered sugar and vanilla. Beat in enough milk to make frosting easy to spread. Spread over brownies and drizzle with melted chocolate. Enjoy!

Moving Things...

Its Memorial Day! That means its Holiday and Mike dont have work, so he can spend more time with us. Today instead of going out, we just decided to stay home and move some of the things here in the house. We need to make some more room in our living room, in Dustin's room and here in the computer room. Dustin's room has more space because we moved Dana's drawer. So he can put all his toys up there and just play in his room instead of playing at the living room. Our computer room looks much better now. I hanged some of the quilt that i made before, just to add view in the room. I also need to finished the quilt that i already started, its been a while that i didn't touch my sewing machine hehe :-) Some of the furniture, toys and clothes that we are not wearing or using. We put it in a plastic bag and Mike will going to put it in the garage or in the attic. We need to organize all the things that we put away because maybe someday we will going to have a garage sale!

Elliptical

Its been a long time since I didn’t go back to the gym and start workout again. We have a thread mill but we’re not using it as often as it can because of getting lazy all the time. I am also busy watching the kids and Mike starting to gain weight and trying to lose weight this time that’s why I told him about elliptical that I found online. It’s true that my kids are everything to me. They are the one who makes me happy. Everytime I feel tired and lonely, just seeing them happy and smiling makes me feel better. Computer Memory

I always use computer all the time. Its my hobby to open my computer after breakfast and when my little girl sleeping. I watch videos, checking emails, pay bills, research and also play games online. But this few days, I noticed that our computer automatically shut down every time I open more than one windows. I am not sure if our computer having problem or not. One of my friend tell me maybe we need to upgrade our computer memory and see if there’s any changes. I am not sure when the last time we change our computer memory. Forgetful...

Oh my! i think i already getting old hehe :-) i thought today is Wednesday. I never thought it was Thursday. I supposed to have bible study this afternoon but i didn't study in advance thats why i need to call kathy and tell her maybe we can have bible study tomorrow instead of today afternoon. Because of the gloomy weather, it makes me feel so tired and lazy. I even didn't go out yesterday for service.

Last night also i didn't have enough sleep because Dana keeps me awake all the time. I fall asleep in the couch while dana sleeping in her swing. I woke up late and im still fortunate because one of the blog advertising is very good to me, they give me 5 tasks to do for the day. So im thankful for that. ;-)

Dark and Cloudy!

Oh my God! i heard something loud outside. It was hailstone again. The weather is kind a scary today. It was dark and cloudy. I am not sure if we can go for our bible study tonight. Thunder was so loud, maybe my kids will woke up because of the noise outside. Princess and Thunder are wining outside. They are scared for the thunder and lightning. But too bad, they need to wait until Mike will be home before they will come in. Few minutes more and my husband will be home and i am sure the rain will stop that time, well... hopefully hehe :-)

Making Banana Bread...

I have 3 banana that is almost getting bad. So instead of throwing it, i decided to get a banana bread recipe online. It turns out really good at this time because before when i try the banana bread? it burned. hehe :-) Anyway here is the easy banana bread recipe:

Ingredients:

3-4 bananas, smashed

1/3 cup melted butter

1 cup sugar

1 egg, beaten

1 tsp. vanilla extract

1 tsp. baking soda

little bit of salt to taste

1 1/2 cups of all purpose flour

Direction:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Mix butter into the mashed bananas in a large mixing bowl using a wooden spoon. Mix in sugar, egg and vanilla. Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture and mix in. Add the flour. Pour mixture into a buttered 4x8 inch loaf pan. Bake for 1 hour. Let it cool and remove from pan and slice to serve. Enjoy!

Family all inclusive vacations

I been looking forward for our family vacation this year. It would be great if we have enough budget and save so that we can go to the place we like for our family vacation. This photo taken yesterday in our dogs kennel at our backyard together with my husband Mike and my 3 year old son Dustin. Its so hard to handle them both because they are such a big dogs especially thunder the male in the right. When you tell them to sit down, they just lay down and dont listen to you. It takes a while before they sit down and calm down. They easily get so excited. Thunder and Princess are getting huge! hopefully we can breed them this coming summer! :-) will see about that because cocao our Pitbull the dominant female is the one who's in heat at this time.

She's a good girl this morning because i never heard noise from her. She just keep smiling and after an hour, she fall asleep again. What a good girl hehe :-)

Planning a new business...

Mike and I are planning a new business. Its about a pet waste service. I heard that many other countries has running this type of business especially in the big city, but i never heard one here in Grand Junction area. We want to try how this business works since my husband like dogs a lot.

Yesterday, we started to make a business card and flyers. We posted some of the flyers at the Vets, pet store, grocery store, vitamin cottage and some coffee shop. We are just waiting for a call to those who are interested. Hopefully this business works and if not then its okay, maybe we will try something else hehe :-)

Kids Enrollment

Last night i talked with my family from the Philippines and they remind me of the kids enrollment. I have 2 niece and 1 nephews that is studying in the Public School. Shiena the elder daughter of my oldest sister will be grade 6 and the two will be grade 3. I know my mom can't afford the enrollment fee and i will try my best to send them extra allowance this end of the month so hopefully i can send it next week. I only have $60 in my paypal account and i already withdraw my $70 last 2 weeks ago. So either i can send them $80 or $100. I dont know i need to talk mike about it and see if he can add some more. :-)

Hailstone

Last March 7 is the first time i saw a hailstone. Then yesterday is the second time. Around 6:00 pm in the afternoon, i hear a loud noise coming from the roof top and the hailstone was bigger than before. Our neighbor's car has a little bit damage because of the hailstone. Mike checked our truck right away to make it sure that there's no damage or dent. I took a video to it and here is it!

Dustin new look...

This is what Dustin new look today. Yesterday, i try to cut his curly hair but i end up shaving it because he is moving a lot and i cant make it perfect. He looks like a shaolin kid now hehe :-) i know mike dont want me to shave dustin's hair but i already did. I am tired of seeing his messy hair all the time. If you can't brush it, it looks terrible. Its very curly and messy look. Now, he looks different, he looks clean and not matured looking. I like it that way, at least i dont need to worry about brushing his hair hehe :-)
